KQHRA Stallion Service Auction Terms & Conditions

Please contact the stallion owner or agent to obtain the breeding contract and verify terms prior to bidding.

1. The stallion services will be sold at auction to the highest bidder. Bidding will commence at one-half (½) of the advertised stallion fee or $500, whichever is greater.
2. The auction will run December 15, 2025 – January 31, 2026, closing at 11:00 p.m. CST. If two or more bidders are active on a stallion service within the final five minutes of its posted closing time, bidding will automatically extend in five-minute increments until only one bidder remains.
3. All bids are final. By placing a bid, each bidder acknowledges acceptance of these rules and regulations.
4. Successful bidders will be notified within 24 hours of the auction close. Credit-card payments (with a 4% convenience fee) will be processed within 48 hours, unless the bidder notifies KQHRA of intent to pay by check or money order. Payment by check or money order must be received within 7 days of auction close. All bidders must have a valid credit card on file to participate.
5. All stallion services are sold subject to the stallion owner’s/farm’s contract and breeding procedures. Purchasers are to review the breeding contract in advance.
6. All services are sold with a live-foal guarantee, including the right to return the following breeding season if the mare fails to settle in the year purchased. The breeding must be used in the current breeding season.
7. Semen collection and shipping are not included unless otherwise noted. All mare care, boarding, veterinary services, chute fees, semen costs (chilled or frozen), and any other related expenses are strictly between the purchaser and the stallion owner/farm.
8. KQHRA assumes no responsibility for any business conducted between the purchaser and the stallion owner/farm. It is the purchaser’s responsibility to arrange breeding details and confirm semen availability with the stallion owner/agent.
9. Any stallion service that does not receive a minimum bid during the auction will be offered on a first-come, first-serve “Buy It Now” basis at the minimum bid plus $100, available through March 31, 2026.
10. A breeding must be purchased for the resulting foal to be eligible to participate in the $50,000-added 2029 Kansas Jackpot Futurity. If a breeding is not purchased, the cost of the stallion’s stud fee must be donated to KQHRA for eligibility in those programs.
